Position Reports to: Ops Manager: Restricted Taxpayer Unit (RTU)Division: PIRELocation: Pretoria - Le HaeAdvert Closing Date: 13 February 2025About the PositionSARS is looking for skilled candidates who are able to apply practical knowledge and act authoritatively on methods, systems, and procedures. Furthermore, the successful candidate should be able to apply applicable legislation, policies and procedures when conducting audits. He/she must be able to effectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in Excise Audit.PIRE Segment provides end-to-end service to prominent individuals meeting the Segment criteria and their related entities. These individuals are influential and are subject to higher public scrutiny and therefore a greater due diligence is required in dealing with their tax matters. The understanding of their nature of work, legislation applicable to them, level of compliance and their risk of non-compliance are important to determine the SARS approach in ensuring that they comply voluntarily with their tax obligations (SARS strategic intent).Job PurposeTo conduct standard audits or verification on a risk profile basis to ensure tax compliance for prominent individuals and related entities.Education and ExperienceNational Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in Auditing/Taxation and/or Accounting AND 2 - 3 years' auditing and tax experience (VAT and PAYE), of which 1 - 2 years at debt service level collection level.ALTERNATE:Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 5 years auditing and tax experience (VAT and PAYE), of which 1-2 years at debt service level collection level.Job Outputs:Process

• Be informed on related acts, legislation and regulations that might impact on own work.
• Be observant and engage on possible violations of regulations, policies, SOP's, and standards of conduct and escalate where necessary.
• Conduct standard (limited scope) audits to ensure compliance with the relevant acts.
• Plan and organise own work tasks within area of work.
• Prepare and present submissions to interest and penalty committee.
• Take accountability for delivery of contracted work outputs within agreed parameters, quality standards and client service targets.
• Accumulate information and provide reports with recommendations applicable to area of specialisation.
• Apply practical and applied knowledge and act authoritatively on methods, systems, and procedures to identify trends and potential risks.
• Communication of situational interpretation and judgement of work outputs and queries in area of specialisation.
• Correctly apply applicable legislation, including amongst other policies, procedures, and SOPs in the delivery of work outputs.
• Effectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in area of specialisation.
• Execute process and procedural change, implement the change, and provide guidelines and support related to new requirements as a result of change.
• Use practical and applied knowledge and situational judgement to consider policy implications and to arrive at decisions/conclusions.
