PROCESS BASIC EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS: Formal schooling/degree
NSC Matric certificate.
Trade: Fitter & Turner (essential) Experience:
Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in the Mechanical Industry. Languages:
English and Afrikaans.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Achieving production performance through: o Ensure that all operations are performed in line with the correct planning (Production Method, Time, and Quality). o Recording and reporting of daily production - provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production records and data. o Maintaining workflow by identifying and understanding bottleneck operations / processes and implementing sustainability corrective actions to remedy the situation. o Achieving the Production Plan, introducing initiatives to make up for any lost time or scrap components. o Ensuring the correct staffing and shift coverage. o Highlighting any adverse trends in terms of production and / or equipment to relevant department for remedial action. o Ensuring that all processes and operations performed in the relevant work area are understood in terms of Quality, Capability, Capacity and Legal compliance. Ensuring that the Quality is in accordance with the requirements: o Comply with all requirements as per the Quality Manual. o
Ensuring that all relevant quality action (in accordance with the IMDS)
are adhered to. o Ensuring that all the components, assemblies and materials are identified and labelled accordingly. o Ensuring that all Quality related issues are dealt with timeously and rectified.
Ensure that all machines and equipment is suitably maintained: o Ensure that the basic operator maintenance is performed. o Ensuring that the Maintenance system are adhered to i.e., Breakdown and TPM forms completely timeously.
Staff discipline: o Managing staff through training, coaching, counselling, and discipline employees where necessary. o Recording and controlling absenteeism. o Enforcing organization standards with regards to Policies and Procedures, Legal and Quality compliance. o Ensuring staff training is performed and recorded.
Stock control: o Ensuring that all system processes are adhered to (ERP system and fundamental processes). o Controlling works Orders. o Ensuring scrap and rejects are dealt with to ensure that the system requirements are met.
Roll out of Lean Manufacturing Principles: o Ensuring housekeeping. o 5 S. o Visual management.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Organize and oversee daily operations across the Autos, Press, and Plating sections. o Ensure swift setup, calibration, and operational readiness of Tornos Cam Auto machines. o Monitor tool, cam, and machine consumables levels to ensure availability and minimize production delays. o Conduct tooling inspections, ensure correct setups, and troubleshoot issues related to press tooling. o Conduct routine checks on machines, dies, and plating equipment, ensuring proper function. o Track production output, report key metrics, and suggest process improvements. o Provide hands-on technical support to resolve production-related issues. Ensuring a safe working environment: o Ensuring the full compliance regarding Safe works procedures, PPE, etc. o Accept responsibility in accordance with the relevant safety appointment. o Fostering open working relations with all supporting departments. o Control of costs associated within your department i.e., production costs, scrap, consumables, etc. o Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS: o Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, producing processes, quality control, cost, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of component. o Personnel and HR - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, training, and Labour relations. o Mechanical - Knowledge of machine and told, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. o Knowledge and understanding of product manufactured and technologies employees. o Knowledge of company systems and procedures. o Sound knowledge of safety regulations. o Inventory management practices. o Managing and Process improvement. o Supply management. o Production control. o Supervision. o Production Planning.
