Automotive Plant Engineering Manager (GCC Factories), Durban, Rneg + Ben

  • N6/B Tech (in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • The Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Factories ticket non-negotiable
  • Red Seal Trade Test qualification as a Millwright/Electrician/Mechatronics Technician.
  • Supervisory Management or any Management Certificate/Qualification will be advantageous.
  • 5-10 years of plant maintenance experience.
  • 5 years experience in a lead supervisory/managerial role in the FMCG/Manufacturing Industry.
DUTIES:
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance of the plant including repair and installation of all electronic, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
  • Schedule Day-to-Day work for all maintenance technicians.
  • Ensure Schedule monthly Preventative Maintenance plans.
  • Assign all repair work.
  • Regularly Inspecting the facility.
  • Operations, services, and activities of a comprehensive plant maintenance program.
  • Equipment vendors and sources of spare parts and replacement equipment.
  • Methods and techniques of troubleshooting, repairing, and installing plant equipment.
  • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Modern and complex principles and practices of equipment and materials purchasing.
  • OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Electrical codes and accepted practices.
  • Methods and techniques of stick, carbon arc, mig and tig welding.
  • Programmable logic controls, co-processors and smart relays.
  • Methods and techniques of handling and transporting hazardous waste, chemicals and gases.
  • Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications.
  • Local laws & By-laws, codes, and regulations.
  • IATF and SABS requirements
