  • You will be required to play a pivotal role in providing exceptional service to both advisers and clients within the Western Cape (CBD and surrounding areas);
  • You will be responsible for managing and enhancing relationships with a panel of advisors and clients in the specified regions;
  • You will be required to develop and manage relationships with a panel of financial advisors and clients (e.g. IFAs, wealth managers, FoF managers, CAT2 advisors, LISP consultants, tied advisors);
  • You will be required to act as a primary point of contact for advisers;
  • You will be required to provide training and support on the retail products and services;
  • You will be required to collaborate with advisers to understand their needs and tailor solutions accordingly;
  • You will be required to identify and develop new relationships;
  • With regards to the panel mentioned, to:
  • You will be required to develop and execute a servicing strategy to promote the company and company funds / products;
  • You will be required to develop a partnership mentality with your advisors - the company should be viewed as a business partner;
  • You will be required to develop a firm understanding of how you can add value to your advisor panel;
  • You will be required to 'manage' the flows / AUM in accordance with your business plan that reflects the business objectives;
  • You will be required to ensure the investment decision-maker is kept informed and updated on the company;
  • You will be required to conduct meetings / presentations to individuals as well as to groups;
  • You will be required to assist clients (where necessary) with administration queries, information requests, etc. (in conjunction with the relevant departments within the company);
  • You will be required to take responsibility for the efficient co-ordination of regional events / presentations (in conjunction with the company's marketing team) to this panel;
  • You will be required to collate, update & manage a database of these advisors / clients;
  • You will be required to be up to date on all aspects of the collective investment & LISP industries - including the regulatory environment in which they operate;
  • You will be required to research and be familiar with competitor products in the industry to position the company's funds / products appropriately with advisors / clients;
  • You will be required, as part of the role, to assist with ad-hoc presentations to various direct or other clients / prospective advisors / banks who request a spokesperson from the company;
  • You will be required to ensure all client interactions and meetings are captured in core CRM system.
CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • You are well-versed in economic indicators and have a passion for investment markets, with a sound understanding of asset class fundamentals and the financial services industry (as mentioned above);
  • You have the ability to synthesise industry and competitor information, and to effectively analyse this and formulate conclusions / propose action plans;
  • You have the highest standards of ethics and integrity and be able to manage confidential information and sensitive relationships;
  • You are a self-starter;
  • You are a team player;
  • You have passion for exceptional client service;
  • You have strong relationship management and networking skills, with skilled persuasiveness and selling;
  • You have excellent presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills in English with an ability to communicate in a simple and concise manner with colleagues and clients;
  • You are a team player with a positive and 'can do' attitude;
  • You have a keen eye for detail, with strong planning and coordinating skills;
  • You have a willingness to travel to outlying areas as and when required;
  • You have strong commercial acumen and business insight, with a good understanding of investment concepts).
CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • You have an appropriate tertiary qualification (CFA / CFP - this would be a distinct advantage);
  • You have a minimum of 5 years' current, relevant experience in asset management / financial services industry; in an investment business development role;
  • You have an in-depth understanding of the investment market (economies, stocks, asset allocation etc.), as well as the CIS and LISP industries;
  • You have knowledge of the discretionary fund management industry and its relationship with advisors;
  • You have a track record of selling across both traditional product lines, as well as into complex or illiquid products and offshore strategies.
