We are currently recruiting for the role Model Coordination Manager - Water, this position is responsible for assisting and coordinating projects with BIM execution across Enterprise Capabilities engagements globally and will work on a Hybrid work model from one of our offices in South Africa. (Belleville, Durban, or Centurion)

Professional qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, or demonstrated equivalent BIM Management experience
  • Minimum 5 years modelling and 3 years BIM Management experience, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
Other preferred characteristics
  • Sound presentation and interpersonal skills
  • An energetic and committed individual, with a hands-on approach.
  • An ability to solve problems, 'trouble-shoot' when the situation demands.
  • Experience of managing large-size international projects across ME, UK, ANZ, Asia, US, Canada would be an asset
  • Ability of working with senior staff including Team Leads, Principal Engineers, Project Engineering Managers and Supervising Discipline Engineers to determine man-hour requirements and schedules for each discipline consistent with the project requirements and schedule.

Role & Responsibilities
  • BIM Implementation Execution - execute the BIM Implementation strategy on complex international projects
  • CDE Admin - provide CDE administration to project teams, manage permissions, complete model-setup in ACC/BIM360 & ProjectWise
  • Multi-Discipline Coordination - lead and execute project coordination workflow, create federated model, condition model's data as necessary, lead and execute clash detection on models, lead BIM coordination meetings and support project teams with project issue's management using either ACC, BIM360, Navisworks or Revizto
  • Information Management - coordinate smart object metadata and classification codes with asset information databases
  • Technical Support - provide advanced guidance on 3D modelling and data management and oversee project teams using Autodesk suite of tools: Navisworks, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and Revit.
  • Scan-to-BIM - integrate Point Clouds in the project's federated model dataset and implement the Scan-to-BIM workflow
  • Content Creation - support the production and creation of smart object content libraries & templates (parametric Revit families, Revit templates, Civil 3D component catalogues, Plant 3D and P&ID databases) and support the maintenance of AECOM's content management repositories (UNIFI)
  • Collaboration - be an ambassador for collaboration with other BIM / Information Management team members from different Enterprise Capabilities offices (Spain, Poland, India, South Africa, Romania, etc). Drive consistency in standards and best practice approaches for BIM across regions
  • Help implement BIM processes to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery process, within projects and in broader AECOM Digital initiatives
  • Manages all activities involved in model coordination on multi-disciplinary design models
  • Facilitating model management and coordination meetings
  • Validating the BIM Model at each exchange data drop as defined in the BIM Execution Plan
  • Ensures adherence to AECOM quality standards, as well as consistent application of organisational policies and monitors budget requirements for projects in support of these
  • Works on complex duties requiring advanced techniques or an extensive and diversified knowledge of specialised areas of model coordination and collaboration
  • Develop and execute project user training for BIM software and processes
  • Provide mentorship to Model Coordination Managers, may have Model Coordination Managers as direct reports
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Civil or Process Engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years modelling and 3 years BIM Management experience, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
  • Certified Professional certification required within 3 years of current version, or demonstrated equivalent
  • Must be proficient in Navisworks Manage
  • Experience executing multi-discipline coordination, clash detection and issue management and an advance user of any of the following: Autodesk Navisworks, Revizto, and ACC Model Coordination.
  • Must be versed in local industry BIM Initiatives and internationally recognised BIM initiatives, standards, protocols and mandates like ISO19650
  • General knowledge of integrated water engineering practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Must be detail-oriented, consistent and highly accurate in their work
  • Should have a thorough grasp of engineering modelling and principles
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • Must have good communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written
  • Ability to set priorities in an efficient and timely manner to meet essential job functions
  • Must be a team player, have a positive attitude, and be a self-starter
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Possess a strong work ethic
