Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
Grade 12 / NTC3, with relevant technical experience and ability with tools and mechanical workings, if not trade tested
Strong experience in the operations of Boilers : General operations, Technical experience, Maintenance, Regulations
Experience in timber Kiln Drying would be advantageous: Kiln drying operations, Schedules, Quality Control
A minimum of 5 years experience in a boiler operations environment
Medically fit with sober habits
Proficient in MS Office skills in Excel & MS Outlook
Code EB license with own transport
Willing to work irregular hours and perform standby duties
Willing to work overtime, incl weekends
Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read & write), Xhosa will be an added advantage
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
Running the daily activities of the Boiler & Kiln operations at both sites, including technical & maintenance oversight
Ensure compliance of all plant, machinery and auxiliary equipment to relevant statutory health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations, as well as company policies & procedures
Control of spare part inventories, and critical spares
Monitor and control costs
Manage training and development of departmental employees
Ensuring and improving the performance, productivity & efficiency
Managing all staff in accordance with labour laws and company policies
Ensuring a high-level housekeeping standard in the department
