Job Description
Job Summary MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Grade 12
- Minimum qualification: Relevant Diploma / NQF level 6
- Qualified Artisan (Boilermaker) with recognized trade certificate.
- Up to 3 years experience in a similar role
- Previous experience working in the logistics industry would be advantageous
- Must be able to work under pressureDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:- Planning, Leading, Organizing and Control of the welding team, tools and equipment
- Responsible for housekeeping and SHEQ in the welding shop
- Managing of Job Cards
- Aligning structures or plate sections to assemble metal frames
- Performing routine maintenance on trailers and trucks metal works
- Inspecting and repairing metal fittings, such as hanger brackets, bin frames, scissors arm, subframes and bin doors
- Fabricating iron/steel plates and tubes for construction of trailer components, loader push pillar and grabs
- Using torches, plasma cutters, or arc welding equipment to cut, bend, and shape metal pieces for assembly
- Testing completed work to verify they are fit for operation
- Installing pre-made components and assembling grabs, push pillars
- Updating job knowledge continuously by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical drawing and participating in meetings
