Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at a guest house. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring the overall financial health of the guest house. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, running, planning, and organizing of the guesthouse in the absence of the general manager. Requirements: Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage or Xero). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Valid driver's license and own transport. Fluent in English and Afrikaans, spoken and written. Working knowledge of human resource policies and practices. Working knowledge of legislation applicable to the hospitality industry. Working knowledge of financial and administrative principles. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
