We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper with knowledge of financial GAAP accounting principles, with a background in hospitality or related accounting experience join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
# Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journals, ledgers, and spreadsheets. Proficiency in Excell, Word and PowerPoint.
2. Accounts Payable: Manage vendor invoices, process payments, and reconcile statements.
3. Accounts Receivable: Manage customer invoices, process payments, and reconcile statements.
4. Payroll: Process payroll, manage benefits, and ensure compliance with tax laws.
5. General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including assets, liabilities, equity, revenues, and expenses.
6. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
7. Budgeting: Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
9. Internal Controls: Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
# Requirements
1. Education: Associate degree in accounting or related field.
2. Experience: 5+ years of bookkeeping experience in the hospitality industry will be an advantage
3. Certifications: Pastel certification or other accounting software.
4. Skills:
- Proficient in accounting software (Pastel, Xero, etc.).
- Netcash experience: collecting recurring payments from customers, subscriptions premiums.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
# Working Conditions
1. Work Environment, office based
2. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-5 hours a day, mandatory annual leave over December
# Salary
1. Salary: 5-10 years' experience (Gross) R18,000 per month
