Roles and Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth financial operations of GC Solar Group. This role includes managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and tax laws.Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting
Maintain accurate financial records in the accounting system.
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring correct allocation of costs.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure financial data integrity.Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process supplier invoices, ensuring proper authorization and timely payments.
Manage customer invoicing, follow up on outstanding payments, and reconcile accounts.
Track project-related expenses and ensure correct allocation to solar projects.
Handle credit applications and maintain vendor relationships.Bank Reconciliation & Cash Flow Management:
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
Monitor cash flow and advise on liquidity needs.
Process online banking transactions, including payments and transfers.Payroll Processing & Compliance:
Administer payroll, including tax calculations, deductions, and benefits.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary statutory reports.
Assist in employee expense claims processing and reimbursement.Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
Prepare VAT, GST, and other tax filings as per government regulations.
Ensure compliance with financial laws and renewable energy tax incentives.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.Inventory & Asset Management:
Track and reconcile inventory for solar equipment and materials.
Maintain fixed asset register and calculate depreciation.Financial Process Improvement & Support:
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
Assist in the financial analysis of solar projects to optimize cost management.Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP).
Strong knowledge of tax regulations and financial compliance.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Skills & Competencies:
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of solar industry-specific financial practices (e.g., project costing, tax credits).
High integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
