SummaryApollo Brands Pty Ltd, exclusive distribution rights holder for Under Armour in SA is recruiting a Brand Manager for the region. The candidate will be responsible for driving full brand and business health in market by ensuring a strategic seasonal approach aligned to global partners and local stakeholders. With a strong management criteria, the key focus is on making sure that the right product is optimised to the the right channel with the effective, impactful cross-channel marketing strategies that elevate the brand and drives sell through. Candidate needs intimate knowledge of the global trend with local market consumer and competitor brand insights and experience to determine effective plans and strategies that successfully position the brand and drive and emotional connection with the 16-24yr old Team Sport Athlete and beyond, drive awareness, consideration and sustainable conversion. With full accountability the candidate is required to manage and drive the team and report all activities to senior executives, stakeholders and global partners.Strategic Planning

  • In-line with the business plan, develop the comprehensive 5YP for managing & marketing the brand and its distribution within SA
  • Engage a multi-channel approach to the strategic plan that drives the brand through targeted awareness, consideration and conversion led KPI's as well as and business health aligning the sales plan, margin requirements and inventory levels.
  • Manage the full Go-To-Market process across all divisions that ensures the adoption of appropriate global seasonal plan and calendar with localize relevance and effectivity
  • Support channel leads to drive plans for optimized growth
  • Design and drive full funnel campaigns to support the brand, gold, silver & bronze stories that achieve critical KPI's
Brand Health Management
  • Ensure all brand and marketing efforts are aligned with global requirements to effectively position and grow the Under Armour brand within the market. This includes assessment of global seasonal stories and how they can be optimized with a localized lens and bringing this to life through DTC channels and delivering strategic sell in and sell through strategies to grow the brand within appropriate partner doors.
  • Be fluent with global brand guidelines and directions to make sure that UA shows up right and in the right places to successfully drive premium positioning and global alignment
  • Drive a hard working promotional calendar that supports the strategic objectives and utilizes critical resources that optimize ROI on multichannel campaign delivery.
  • Embrace and continually search for opportunities for growth in marketplace and direct the efforts towards this
Channel Management
  • Retail & Trade Marketing Management: includes visual merchandising, technical staff training, campaign elevation, wholesale partner marketing planning and implementation
  • Sports Marketing Management: event sponsorship, contracting and optimised management & athlete strategy procurement and management in order drive ROI and support business and brand strategies
  • Media Management (Owned / Earned & Paid) : PR, social, digital and traditional paid media to support key growth KPIs
  • Ecomm Marketing Management: drive full funnel campaigns to drive conversion
  • CRM Marketing Management: data base growth and loyalty management
Merchandising Department
  • Oversee the Merchandising team with overarching responsibility for all product and how the brand is showing up in the market place across all channels.
  • Drive and manage the full GTM process, working closely with all channel leads and planners to ensure the right assortments at Good, Better, Best level for the SA Consumer, and critically in line with global push direction.
  • Manage inventory flow with the global team to ensure that the merchandise delivery successfully aligns with the brand calendar
Planning Department
  • Optimised assortment and OTB planning in line with budget forecast to ensure healthy sales, margin and inventory levels in line with business requirements and to deliver global on contracts
  • Manage and maximise the replenishment efficiencies for all channel sales
  • Seasonal Global Order management and Inbound tracking
  • Inventory management in line with channel & stock turn KPIs
  • Full and consistent visibility to the management team on the key business metrics that affect sales, margin and inventory
Budget/Spend Management
  • Close management of the Marketing Budget in line with the plan - allocation of spend according to strategic requirements
  • Manage spend in line with global requirements to ensure 2% rebate is achieved
  • Provide visibility and accurate reporting to business on all spend
  • Ensure maximum ROI on all spend
Global Liaison & Reporting Accountability
  • Drive transparency and collaboration with all EMEA counterparts to foster positive engagement with the Global Team
  • Report efficiently on all activity across buying, planning and marketing
Team Management
  • Drive an engaged, positive and committed team and support learning and development
  • Ensure role clarity and aligned goal setting for team
  • Talent Management and succession planning
