Purpose of the Position:
To ensure fault resolution, installation and repair of broadcast equipment necessary to reduce operational down time. Participate in the creative design and implementation of new technology and system changes.
Key Performance Objectives
Tasks
Operational Delivery
Drive the corrective and preventative maintenance of broadcast systems and equipment is carried out.
Involved in the creative design and implementation of the new technology and systems changes
Ensure availability of technical support as well as operational advice to clients
Ensure that proper mechanical and technical maintenance on OB units/Store items are carried out regularly
Assist units other than your dedicated unit where business requires
Operate various tech- systems applications
Budget Management
Ensure cost effective utilization of resources
Ensure that there is proper CAPEX planning and budgeting input to relevant line Manager
Communication
Communicate with clients regarding the acquisitions of equipments or spare parts
Ensure that feedback is provided on deliverables through appropriate communication channels
Provide alternate solutions to the Planning strategy for productions to relevant Line Managers.
Qualification:
A National Diploma in Engineering or similar qualification
Qualification Preferred:
A Degree advantageous
Experience
A minimum 3-5 years' experience outside broadcasting engineering or similar qualification
Extensive live broadcasting knowledge
