Job Description


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a Bachelor's in Agriculture or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 7 years experience in managing large poultry herds is essential
  • Experience managing a team, including supervising staff and coordinating farm operations, is crucial
  • Must be familiar with industry best practices and regulations
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Assisting the Farm Manager in the successful operation of the farming unit.
  • Providing close supervision, guidance, and advice to all staff to help them achieve their objectives.
  • Monitoring daily performance of all units under responsibility, ensuring they operate within divisional guidelines.
  • Overseeing all aspects of farm operations, including feeding, watering, health care, and housing of the chickens, to promote growth and health.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of production plans to meet the farms output goals, including forecasting production needs, managing inventory, and coordinating with suppliers for feed, equipment, and other necessary resources.
  • Monitoring the health of the chickens, including vaccination programs, disease prevention, and treatment of illnesses.
  • Maintaining accurate records of production data, including growth rates, feed consumption, and mortality rates.
