Assess and target new relationships and maintain them.

Compare/monitor competitors' activities & product trends in the retail market, report such activity.
Develop & maintain customer relationships and develop, grow and retain assigned accounts within the designated territory.
Open new doors for business by sourcing and securing new clients.
Initiate and manage sales promotions, training and scheduling of customers visits arranged in conjunction with the Marketing Leader and Sales Leader and in line with the budget or forecast.
Manage and respond to customer queries and ongoing support requirements.
Initiate structured sales review meetings with key companies / branches / customers.
Identify new sales opportunities and communicate to all relevant parties in terms of brands, projects or markets.
Communicate sales performance with the aid of reports and draw up short-term /long term plans for merchants/branches sales targets.
Manage structured call cycles and call plan with regard to customer visits, road trips, launches and provide feedback of all actions resulting from such visits.
Manage marketing intelligence, competitor analysis, competitor activity.
Reporting on - Sales by customer/country/product, Competitor activities, Product significance, Customer significance, Promotional activities, Training, any relevant information required or is entered into the CRM system on a regular basis.
Leadership Competencies:
Must have in-depth product knowledge.
Experience in direct calling on prospective clients.
Must have a strong background in marketing and sales.
Must have an understanding of the sales process.
Must have strong background knowledge in plumbing, construction and Sanware.
Good knowledge of all legislations related to building and construction.
Computer system knowledge: full MS Suite and Google Sheets, Docs and Slides.
SAP knowledge is essential.
Customer support and service experience is essential.
Must have sales forecasting and planning experience.
Must have very strong selling/marketing presentation skills.
Attention to detail (critical).
Quality decision making.
Action orientated and results driven.
Good time management.
Good communication (both written and verbal).
Demonstrated ability to push ideas forward and present concepts well.
Requirements:
Matric or Equivalent
Qualification in sales and marketing will be advantageous.
3-5 years of experience sourcing new business opportunities.
3 years knowledge of dealing with retailers/merchants and wholesalers
3-5 years in sales and marketing environment.
Valid driver's license- unendorsed code 8.
Own vehicle advantageous
Must be willing to travel to customers
