Job Description


Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, the Business Development Director, Africa (Country Sales Manager) will contribute to the achievement of Biocairs sales revenue and gross profit targets, by building new revenue, developing new customers and adding to our existing customer base, by selling our new and existing services to the Life Science industry.The role has overall responsibility for managing the Sales team, effectively utilising their expertise and developing and growing the customer portfolio, whilst providing day to day management and leadership.Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the EMEA Sales Director to define and deliver on the sales plan for the business.
  • Establishing an effective process for delivering continued growth and profitability across the business.
  • Coaching and developing the direct reporting team to ensure they have the appropriate skills and knowledge to drive the business forward.
  • Collaborating with all departments to ensure effective outcomes are achieved, providing feedback to other business units and fostering a "One Biocair" approach.
  • Managing you own sales portfolio in line with the sales targets and objectives set for them with the EMEA Sales Director.
  • Leading the accurate forecasting of future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace to develop, evolve and meet sales targets.
  • Serving as a lead business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions, maintaining a position as a thought-leader within the market.
  • Forming and developing key, high-level relationships with senior decision makers within the company's key clients.
  • Driving a value based selling mentality with strong consultancy skills across the team to ensure higher retention and improvements in profitability.
  • Preparing sales proposals and responding to Key Accounts tenders and RFPs.
  • Negotiating customer contracts and pricing, and liaising with the legal and finance departments to complete.
  • Reporting and analysing, in detail, sales and margin data as well as reporting all prospects and clients activity in Salesforce.
  • Identifying and communicating market needs to the services management team to contribute to the improvement and prioritization of the roadmap.

  • Proven success in developing new business in the logistics, integrator and/or freight forwarding sector within a healthcare or specialist cold chain environment being highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience gained in a similar level lead sales role within an international company requiring both customer and people management responsibilities.
  • Strong experience in high-level negotiations, regulatory and contract management.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Good analysis and synthesis skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with SalesForce CRM (desirable) and other Office tools.
  • Experience in managing a diverse sales team is desirable.
