This position will be fully remote, with travel required within South Africa.This is a great opportunity to be part of a global company operating across sports and technology industries, with robust growth strategy.*Please Note:* This role is fully remote, based in the Gauteng Province and KwaZulu-Natal regions.The Business Development Manager will be responsible for creating and executing plans to drive business growth, expand market presence and identify new opportunities for revenue generation, continually seeking opportunities for growth, and building strong relationships with customers and partners in the industry.This will be a crucial role in launching and growing the sales business for our range of product software and services that enable golf clubs to manage their operations efficiently, driving long term sustainability and revenue for our business within the region. The primary territories for this role will be within the Gauteng Province and KwaZulu-Natal regions. The role will report to the Director, Sales Operations, with a dotted line to the local Operations Manager.Key Responsibilities:Relationship building and management will be at the core of this role leading to new customer acquisition as well as further developing existing accounts to increase revenue by product adoption and upselling. The Business Development Manager will be sales and revenue focused and contribute to business success by;

  • Analyse and develop a full understanding of market requirements, competitive landscape and our sales philosophy and products alongside this.
  • Build and develop a go-to-market strategy to drive acquisition and growth. This will involve leveraging technical tools and quantitative data to develop strategies that will lead both clients and our business to success.
  • Acquire advanced product knowledge and competitive awareness, to conduct presentations and negotiations that differentiate our products and services as a technical and commercial solution for potential customers.
  • Build and leverage a strong network within and across the industry, identifying potential new customers and engaging with prospects to promote and demonstrate our products and services.
  • Collaborate across internal teams specifically customer support, marketing and product teams to ensure customer success and achievement of business goals.
  • Play a key role in contributing and collaborating with senior management in the planning, rollout and delivery of strategic sales initiatives.
  • Being results focused on meeting and/or exceeding individual and department metrics and goals, as well as exercising accountability, proactivity and a strong work ethic in driving revenue growth across your region.
  • Daily use of Salesforce, to maintain and record all customer activity, create sales orders, report and analyse market data to create and deliver on go to market strategies and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the business and participating on behalf of the company in exhibitions, conferences, and/or events that are determined to help build accelerating sales or build your profile.
  • Engaging with colleagues internationally to understand and support the growth of a positive company culture in your region, ensuring that core values and good sportsperson-ship behaviours are consistently demonstrated.
QualificationsEssential:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in sales and/or account management in a SaaS environment, promoting web/cloud/mobile based products in a relevant industry (e.g. Sports/Leisure/Hospitality).
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Own a car and hold a valid SA drivers license.
  • Consultative selling approach.
  • A proven track record of successful business development and acquiring new customers.
  • A good understanding of the game of golf, its practices and environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills demonstrated in both virtual and face-to-face client engagement settings.
  • A self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and a proven track record of achieving targets and objectives.
  • Collaborative and adaptable with experience of working in conjunction with multiple teams.
  • Experience in analysing, collecting and presenting data to support proposals to current and potential clients.
  • A proactive, positive attitude/approach.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness and ability to travel between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal as required to build relationships and drive business development.
Desirable:
  • Relevant tertiary degree (e.g. Business/ Sales/ Marketing/ IT).
  • Experience working in golf industry or with golf-related technology.
  • Established network of relationships with golf professionals, golf clubs, industry bodies or sports organisations.
  • Experience launching new products into markets.
  • Proficiency in Afrikaans to enhance communication with a diverse client base, would be advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal markets, including key stakeholders, potential partners, and competitors.
  • Strong technical understanding with a high level of comfort in using web-based cloud applications.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
