This position is based at the Mpumalanga Green Cluster Agency (MGCA), a non-profit organization in Mpumalanga.
Advertised as a 100% full-time position.
Contract period extends until 31 March 2026, with the possibility of extension.

To be considered you need the following Qualifications:
Unlock your potential with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Elevate your expertise with a preferred Masters degree.
Professional Experience: Demonstrated Expertise in the South African Health Sector
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Business Development, preferably in the Non-Profit sector, Green Economy, or Local economic development.
Strong understanding of the Triple Helix Cluster model, and experience working at the intersection of government, industry, and academia.
Demonstrated success in securing funding and investments, with a solid network of potential investors and partners.
A sound knowledge of the South African public and private sector landscape in relation to the Just (Energy) Transition, green economy, and climate change.
A proven network in South Africa in the areas of green economy, local economic development, Just (Energy) Transition, climate change, and/or sustainable finance.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills, both verbal and written; proven track record of drafting and editing complex knowledge and communication materials when necessary.
Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
Responsibilities:
Strategic Development:
Develop and execute strategic plans to establish and enhance MGCAs business functions.
Identify novel business opportunities, secure funding, and establish partnerships aligning with MGCAs mission.
Propose and assess new business models conducive to MGCAs sustainable growth and that of its partners. This may involve innovating service delivery methods, crafting value propositions for diverse stakeholders, and exploring fresh revenue channels.
Align MGCAs business model with regional policies on local economic development.
Funding and Investment:
Spearhead efforts to identify, negotiate, and secure funding and investments for MGCA initiatives and projects.
Prepare and present compelling business cases and proposals to potential investors and funding entities.
HR and Organizational Development:
Oversee the formulation and execution of a comprehensive HR strategy supporting MGCAs strategic objectives.
Ensure the recruitment, development, and retention of talented and committed staff to propel MGCAs mission forward.
Cluster Engagement:
Foster collaboration and partnerships among the triple helix cluster members (Government, Industry, and Academia) to further MGCAs goals.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify and surmount barriers to the green economy, thus ensuring the region's economic and environmental prosperity.
