LOCATION: Northern Suburbs, GautengR HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUSOur client is a nimble discretionary investment management business that offers a range of competitive investment solutions, including a focused CIS fund range and investment products. They are a fast-growing business with a good track record which aims to increase its market share in the South African savings and investment industry. The company is a growing asset management and investment solutions business based in Johannesburg. They are wholly-owned by a large financial services group with a global footprint. Their portfolio management team manages and invests the balance sheet assets of the company's groups 4 South African insurance licences. They actively invest into different asset classes both directly and via 3rd-party asset managers. We are also responsible for hedging specific liabilities using derivatives.They now seek a business development manager to join their team. You will report to the head of sales. Role is created as a result of growth in the business.JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • You will be required to provide distribution services and support to the investment business. develop, implement and maintain a distribution strategy aimed at growing business assets under management and administration across relevant distribution channels, primarily focusing on the retail environment;
  • You will be required to work closely with other business units to grow the business footprint, awareness and market presence;
  • Distribution and support:
  • You will be required to drive business development / distribution of the company funds, products and other offerings:
  • You will be responsible for business development responsibilities would include working closely with the investment management, product and platform teams to grow net asset flows across distribution channels, with a primary focus on retail clients;
  • You will be required to provide advice and guidance to direct retail clients, only where necessary;
  • You will be required to play a supportive role in building the distribution capability for the business including the formulation, execution and monitoring of respective company retail channel strategies;
  • You will be required to drive the relevant activity associated with increasing net asset flows and appropriately servicing different channels and clients;
  • You will be required to regularly present to existing distribution channels to provide update on CIS funds and investment offerings;
  • You will be responsible for contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings with key decision makers;
  • You will be responsible for researching organisations and individuals, attending relevant conferences, meetings and industry events to find new opportunities for the business;
  • You will be responsible for construction and delivery of weekly, monthly and quarterly client investment and economic communications including liaison with the investment team on research reports and investment commentary, when required;
  • You will be responsible for general input on group projects that require a marketing and client experience consideration;
  • You will be required to assist with planning and running of company client events and company representation at relevant industry events;
  • You will be required to provide distribution services and support to the investment business;

CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • You have a strong understanding / knowledge of the various distribution channels;
  • You have sound business development acumen and orientation;
  • You have honed customer service orientation;
  • You have excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills in English;
  • You have good time management / project management;
  • You have a keen eye for detail and are able to write in plain easy language; 'simple, clear, easy to understand'.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • You have a relevant degree;
  • You have a minimum of 4 years' current, relevant experience in a similar or related role;
  • You have investment industry experience with client relationships;
  • You have in depth knowledge of financial products and funds and economic markets;
  • You have technical marketing knowledge and skills -
