Job Description

A well-established scientific engineering organisation is seeking to appoint a Business Development Practitioner. Reporting to the Executive Director: Earth Observation, the successful candidate will drive the growth and expansion of the Earth Observation (EO) Programme. This includes identifying market opportunities, fostering partnerships,developing business cases, and ensuring the delivery of EO solutions that address critical needs in agriculture, disaster management, climate monitoring, urban planning, and other sectors. The role bridges technical and commercial disciplines by fostering relationships with stakeholders, supporting the development of business strategies, and promoting EO services to drive revenue generation and sustainability of the Programme.Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Geospatial Science, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in the scientific or geospatial sector.
• Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, marketing, proposal writing and contract negotiations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to identify and leverage market opportunities.
• Proficiency in proposal and business case development, costing models, and contract management.
• Familiarity with EO technologies and applications is an advantage.
