Matric (essential).
A relevant 3-year degree / diploma relating to Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing / Database Administration (advantageous).
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 or more years development experience within a business intelligence environment.
Qlik development experience (advantageous).
Consulting experience (advantageous)
Experience and knowledge of the financial insurance industry (advantageous).
Advanced MS Office Skills., Different database environments e.g. DB2, SQL, Informix., Strong transact SQL., Advanced Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)., Extraction, Transaction and Loading (ETL) principles., Qlikview and QlikSense., Nprinting
KPAs: Analytical Modeling:
Translate business requirements into suitable analytical models, extracting trends and patterns from company data to address short-term insurance metrics. Present model functionality to relevant stakeholders upon request.
Operational Support:
Ensure server availability during operational hours and oversee user-acceptance testing of Data Visualisation models. Administer the business intelligence management console, including task scheduling and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of BI solutions.
Business Requirements Identification:
Gather business requirements through various methods, developing solutions within the architecture framework to meet business needs.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Conduct research using primary data sources to analyse key themes and trends.
Insights and Reporting:
Compile and disseminate various data and analytics reports, extracting insights from BI models for stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build relationships across the business to understand needs and issues, arranging meetings and drafting materials to promote understanding and commitment to business objectives.
Improvement / Innovation:
Manage priorities to focus on commercially beneficial tasks. Continuously review departmental processes and systems for efficiency improvements. Develop innovative ideas and evolve systems and processes.
Personal Capability Building:
Participate in assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training, and coaching to enhance capabilities. Stay updated on business intelligence trends through forums, webinars, and specialist media.
Performance Management:
Manage user expectations and deliverables, ensuring work is completed to standards of productivity, quality, and timeliness.
Database Specifications:
Provide input on suitability during the approval process for database specifications, ensuring adherence to standards and data integrity.
Data Management:
Operate data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes, guided by senior colleagues.
Organisational Capability Building:
Provide instruction and informal advice to less experienced colleagues to support their skills development.
