DescriptionBusiness Systems Analyst ManagerAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Business Systems Analysis Manager to lead our Business Systems Development team. In this role, you will be accountable for the standardization of work, hiring decisions, measurement of performance of staff, resource planning and allocation to demand, and professional development of the members of the team. You will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the various Business Systems we develop, implement, and maintain across the GVW group, supporting both legacy systems, modernization, and transformational efforts. This role is responsible for analyzing and improving business processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. It involves gathering and documenting requirements, designing solutions, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation. The Business Systems Analyst Manager acts as a bridge between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that systems and processes align with organizational goals and objectives. The candidate would be working with the Software Development, Data, PMO, Business System Owners, and Project Implementation teams (some external).The ideal candidate is highly skilled in requirements elicitation, goes beyond the ask to understand the underlying intent and possible approaches to address it. They can produce high quality Business and Functional Requirements Documents (BRD/FRD) in traditional delivery methodologies and User Stories in agile delivery methodologies. The candidate can collaborate well with business and technology stakeholders to work towards the best possible solution and build cohesiveness and trust with high quality work, reliability and adaptability. As such, they are an excellent communicator, with a proven track record leading teams between 3 and 10 with a style that exceeds expectations of productivity, impact and engagement.Key Responsibilities

  • Standardization of Work: Ensure that all processes and methodologies are standardized across the team to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Hiring Decisions: Lead the recruitment process for new Business Systems Analysts, ensuring that the team is composed of highly skilled and motivated individuals.
  • Measurement of Performance: Develop and implement performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of team members. Provide regular feedback and coaching to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Resource Planning and Allocation: Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and ensure that team members are utilized optimally.
  • Professional Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Provide opportunities for training and growth to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and gaps: Define and capture business, systems, and project requirements.
  • Liaise between business stakeholders, development teams, and the PMO: Provide business stakeholders with perspective on the overall roadmap and direction of critical systems.
  • Present pros and cons of business requests to stakeholders and advise on course of action: Capture requirements and finalize process, application, and systems designs.
  • Ensure delivery of products that meet agreed-upon features and schedules: Utilize process mapping techniques to document existing processes and identify areas for improvement. Conduct impact analysis of changes to processes and capability.
  • Evaluate existing and emerging technologies to improve business processes: Align with Technology Roadmap and Architecture Guidelines wrt recommendations made.
  • Devise change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Business Analysts, and business units, to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Work with the Development and Implementation teams to ensure test plans are developed in accordance with acceptance criteria and are executed correctly.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or information technology or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in gathering and documenting business and systems requirements and/or business process optimization
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team with the above accountabilities
  • Experience with business applications supporting Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and/or Manufacturing
  • Strong consultative and advisory skills
  • Experience in traditional and agile delivery methodologies
Soft and Hard Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and ability to work independently on complex tasks.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Documentation skills and ability to describe features and changes using well-known diagramming tools and techniques such as C4 and UML.
  • Proven remote collaboration mindset and experience.
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on diverse responsibilities.
  • Customer-centric approach to support, feedback, and providing value through software development to clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing schedules and priorities.
  • Strong MS Visio or Draw.io skills
  • Experience with ITSM, Project Management and Agile Delivery tools (e.g. Azure Boards)
  • Experience working with Bespoke and COTS solutions to be built and integrated.
  • Strong at working with other delivery teams to estimate work and develop accurate SOWs
  • Someone who strives to be a strategic partner rather than an order taker, who always looks for ways to create greater impact faster and the right way the first time.
Preferred/Advantageous Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Prince2/PMBOK and Agile development frameworks.
  • BA and/or BPMN or similar certification.
  • TOGAF and/or Archimate
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar certification.
  • Data analytics experience.
  • Experience in process mapping using tools and techniques such as Visio BPMN, 5S, PDCA, Gemba, Value Stream Mapping, Design Thinking, Rapid Improvement Events
