While each solution has its own distinct purpose, they all share the world-class quality and commitment that have come to distinguish Glacier.What will you do?As a Specialist Business Systems Analyst, you will play a pivotal role as a problem solver and visionary, facilitating business change within an agile environment as part of the End-to-End Analysis Competency. Your primary responsibilities will include defining, researching, and exploring existing and future technologies to design and manage business and system requirements for Glacier projects. Additionally, you will deliver solutions that are future-oriented, efficient, and provide significant business value across all business and IT domains.Key outcomes
The Specialist Business Systems Analyst will be expected to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Understand Business Needs: Analyse and comprehend business requirements related to potential changes or transformations.
  • Build Key Relationships: Foster strong connections with stakeholders, including business owners, product owners, development teams, trainers, and users.
  • Advise on Best Outcomes: Serve as a trusted advisor, providing insights on optimal solutions for business problems or initiatives.
  • Facilitate Workshops: Lead work-sessions, database design, and solution workshops to gather information and finalize requirements.
  • Document Business and System Requirements: Clearly identify and document requirements in an easily understandable manner.
  • Produce Models and Diagrams: Create data, activity models, component flow, functional decomposition, and data flow diagrams using tools like Enterprise Architect, Visio, and Confluence.
  • Implement Best Practices: Document and enforce best practices, standards, and guidelines to ensure solutions align with group architecture principles.
  • Consider Non-Functional Requirements: Address system characteristics such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability in product design.
  • Present Future-Fit Solutions: Demonstrate solutions through walk-throughs and prototyping to analysts, project managers, architects, development teams, and testers, aiding in story estimations and prioritization.
  • Implement and Test Solutions: Oversee the implementation, testing, and deployment of solutions, including facilitating and coordinating User Acceptance Testing.
  • Support Business Transition: Assist in business transitions by transferring knowledge to users, trainers, and peers.
  • Enhance Analysis Framework: Continuously research, develop, improve, and implement the analysis framework.
  • Provide Regular Feedback: Offer consistent feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Post-Implementation Support: Provide ongoing support to both business and IT post-implementation.
  • Work with Agile Teams: Collaborate with an agile team using the scrum framework.
  • Mentor and Coach: Guide and support other business and systems analysts.
  • Take Initiative and Innovate: Proactively explore new technologies and foster innovation to enhance solutions and processes.
What will make you successful in this role?Qualifications and experience
  • B.Com. B.Sc. in Information Technology or Informatics (Honors / Master's degrees advantageous)
  • Relevant formal qualification in Business Analysis. E.g. Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis (AdBA)
  • + 7 years Business Analysis experience
  • + 3 years Systems Analysis experience
  • + 3 years' experience in Financial Services industry (LISP / Wealth / Asset management experience advantageous)
  • Exposure to C# and SQL (DB2 and Ms SQL)
  • Exposure to SQL stored procedures
  • Exposure to Digitization Design and Digital Self Service Portals
  • Strong relational database expertise 3-5 years
  • Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design
  • Strong Business Analyst skills
  • Strong Data Analysis skills
  • Strong Application Design expertise
  • Exposure to SCRUM and other Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of mobile application design
  • Experience in API design
  • Experience in design and support of web-based solutions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of domain driven design
  • Experience in Design Thinking principles
