A specialist optometry clearing and benefit management company in Bloemfontein is looking for an experienced Business Unit Manager to join their dynamic team. The Business Unit manager will be responsible for managing the entire business unit for a leading medical aids company.Candidates who meet the below minimum requirements are invited to submit their application via the link provided.Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric
  • 3 years Management or Operational experience
  • Computer literate: MS Office suit intermediate or advanced level
  • 1 - 3 years in the medical aid industry would be advantageous
  • Experience in workflow processes within a dynamic, high-volume operations environment is essential
  • Team management experience with teams more than 40 people will be highly advantageous
  • Relevant qualification
  • Literate in English
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily activity of the team and liaison with clients
  • Prepares budgets, schedules, and other organisational reports as needed Including presentations to client groups
  • Manage team and workloads to meet goals and deadlines
  • Provides advice and guidance
  • Improve existing systems and policies
  • Ensures customer requirements are met in a timely manner and according to set service levels
  • Resolve complex claims and customer issues
  • Manage client relationships and expectations
  • Executes plans designed to meet company goals by creating and implementing policies and coaching employees
  • Interact with managers and senior managers to align and optimise business processes
  • Identify improvement areas and implement systems to boost company effectiveness
  • Minimal travel to client, stakeholder, service partner meetings and forums
Required Competencies:
  • Knowledge of business policies, processes and procedures and legal compliance
  • Ability to manage and lead large teams to meet deadlines and targets
  • Ability to inspire and influence people positively
  • Detail oriented with the ability to deal with complexity and to work under pressure
