Job Description


Our client in the Pharmaceutical industry is currently looking for a Business Unit Manager Urology and PI, in Johannesburg, Gauteng.Responsibilities:

  • Continuously providing tools and educational resources to team members to keep them informed about industry trends, competitors, and product developments.
  • Actively gathering insights from physicians, suppliers, and other sources to refine, adjust, and prioritize regional strategies.
  • Addressing competitor sales tactics while working closely with the marketing team.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and assessing their impact on local and regional sales efforts.
  • Regularly tracking regional sales performance, implementing necessary corrective actions, and preparing reports, analyses, and documentation for effective regional management.
  • Supporting sales and marketing teams in activities such as promotions, training, and market research.
  • Collaborating with the Country Sales Manager to develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Managing expenses to ensure sales targets are achieved within budget constraints.
  • Aligning individual territory plans and account strategies with the broader regional sales plan while coaching sales teams in coordination with the Country Sales Manager.
  • Creating quarterly regional sales forecasts and contributing to market potential assessments and sales expense projections.
  • Frequently traveling with team members to ensure effective execution of divisional strategies while fostering team growth through coaching and best practices.
  • Overseeing efficient territory management and targeted account planning.
  • Conducting quarterly sales assessments with the team and management, refining strategies based on regional needs.
  • Designing, implementing, and tracking a regional targeting program.
  • Identifying gaps in sales forecasts and proposing corrective strategies to drive growth.
  • Developing and recommending expansion analyses, promotional programs, and materials to support sales initiatives.
  • Actively contributing to corporate and divisional sales efforts by mentoring and influencing the team.
  • Continuously enhancing knowledge and skills to effectively sell the full product portfolio while differentiating offerings from competitors.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key economic buyers in the regions major accounts.
  • Leading contract negotiations for all regional product offerings.
  • Delivering a comprehensive package of products and value-added services.
  • Setting negotiation parameters for financially constrained customers.
  • Sustaining relationships with major accounts and key stakeholders to drive profitable business opportunities.
  • Assisting key customers in developing, maintaining, and expanding division-related educational programs and forums.
  • Attending and engaging in customer, company, and industry-sponsored events and training sessions.
  • Managing documentation and processes, ensuring prompt resolution of complaints or issues while upholding a strong commitment to quality.
  • Promoting quality awareness and guiding the local team toward enhanced performance and customer-focused initiatives.
  • Ensuring employees are informed about mandatory training and quality requirements in coordination with the HR Manager.
Requirements:
  • Completed Degree in relevant Scientific or Business Management.
  • Master Degree or MBA advantageous
  • Industry experiences working in a similar strategic sales and team management position within the clinical/medical device area.
  • Strong business acumen with experience delivering sales strategies, direct sales and marketing, product lifecycles, P&L, competition and market trend analysis.
  • Team management experience including direct reports and cross-functional leadership.
  • Strong internal and external communication skills.
  • English language skills, both written and verbal, at a professional working proficiency level, or above.
  • Can rapidly adapt to a very dynamic marketplace.
  • Strong team player, collaborative, and can build relationships and work cross-functionally.
Remunerations:
  • Dependent on qualification and experience.
