At least 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably including packaging
Must be computer literate in Excel, Word, and email
Preferably have sound knowledge of JDE or an equivalent program
Responsibilities:
Manage your portfolio through effective strategy input and excellent execution, which will drive the total cost approach in addressing costs.
Factor in leveraging, spend consolidation, or new sources where appropriate.
Portfolio stock management will also be vital in achieving an effective portfolio, will be managed through your effective processes put in place.
Non-conformance resolution on any quality or supplier concerns will also feature on your agenda.
Cross functional collaboration is vital to this role and your ability to communicate across many varying roles will be required to be successful in this role.
Supplier:
Institute and maintain appropriate supplier relationships and associated replenishment processes that will satisfy the demands of manufacturing requirements to convert raw materials into finished goods, ensuring sustainable supply.
Source local & international will be required, implement and manage new suppliers, innovation and substitute products to ensure continuity of supply, therefore exploring the opportunities to improve overall profitability by achieving increased value for money, ensuring appropriate quality standards, and securing access to product differentiation opportunities
Pricing and supply chain evaluation
Strong negotiation ability covering pricing, MOQ, and terms.
Processes:
Supplier and Product set up in JDE
Inputs into costing and marketing
Monthly forecasting, internal and to suppliers, on your portfolio, including all associated Excel documents.
Pricing & Inventory
Analyze local and global trends so as to minimize the risk and exposure to the business in order to prevent unplanned price changes and out of stocks, as well as capitalize on opportunities presented by the market to increase profitability
Establish and manage inventory and replenishment policies and processes ensuring realistic financial exposure in order to optimize inventory levels and costs, working in conjunction with Manufacturing planning, Finance and Logistics and Marketing.
Obsolete and discontinued raw materials are reported and followed up on a monthly basis targeting ZERO write offs
