Responsible ForJob Overview:
  • We are seeking a buyer to join our Procurement Team.
  • This role will include a focus on expediting import & local shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery whilst supporting our commitment to world-class operational excellence. The candidate must be methodical, detail-oriented, accurate and timeous.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Execute the end-to-end process of import shipment, coordinating with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs to ensure timely delivery.
  • Track and monitor all incoming shipments, proactively addressing any potential delays to mitigate supply risk. Communicate ETA's with all internal stakeholders
  • Ensure all import activities comply with international and South African laws and regulations including customs and tariff requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all import documentation
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence by supporting initiatives to improve the import & local procure to pay process efficiencies, compliance and on time, in full delivery.
  • Deliver on departmental KPI's such as supplier OTIF+Q, reduction of demurrage costs, and efficiency improvements.
  • Loading of relevant price lists and supplier documentation on agreed platforms.
  • Ensuring that all sourcing activities are done in accordance with the Procurement Guidelines and SOP's
  • Resolving any invoicing, quantity or price variances.
  • Promoting ethical practices and behaviors with all stakeholders.
  • BBBEE certificate collection and data capture.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and other accreditation standards as well as legislative compliance.
  • Drive a culture of procurement professionalism through the business.
Job NatureFull TimeEducational RequirementsQualifications:
  • BCom Supply Chain/Logistics, CIPS, APICS or similar.
  • Experience in import logistics and international trade advantageous.
