Job Description
Well-established and fast-growing clothing retailer based in Durban, is looking to employ a Buyer for Menswear.
Salary range: R25K - R35K monthly cost to companyJob purpose:
The purpose of the Buyer for Menswear is to achieve sales and profit targets by selecting and purchasing the appropriate product range, in line with the retail brand, customer demand and appropriate price point.Key Requirements:
- Preferable to have a buying/design degree.
- Must have at least 5yrs buying experience with at least 2 years in menswear.
- Must be able to work efficiently from a buying plan.
- Must bring some supplier resources to the table.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- It would be beneficial if the candidate has some knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing experience.
- Must be a team player
- Its essential to have a passion for menswear with a drive to get the perfect product into stores at a great price
- Research market trends and customer needs to develop business buying strategy for Menswear
- Source and partner with suppliers to supply products that sell
- Develop and execute buying plan to achieve sales and margin budgets
- Partner with suppliers, planners, stores and marketing team
- implement sales and marketing strategies for maximum sales
- Stock management
- Quality control
- Ongoing evaluation and adjustment of plans and strategy
