SUMMARY:
-POSITION INFO:OverviewOur Client within the Hardware industry is seeking a Senior Hardware Buyer to join their teamMinimum Requirements

  • Grade 12/Matric
  • Degree/Diploma in a relevant field
  • 3 years of retail merchandising and buying experience is essential
  • Hardware buying experience is essential
  • Working knowledge of the the retail cycle and merchandising buying principles and processes
  • A clear understanding of hardware in the retail environment
  • Understanding and experience in retail planning principles and processes is advantageous
  • A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is required.
Job Responsibilities
  • Strategic Buying: Lead the procurement of hardware products, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. Make informed decisions on product selection, pricing, and vendor partnerships.
  • Manage Procurement Processes: Oversee all buying activities, from planning to execution, ensuring that products are sourced cost-effectively and meet quality standards.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and ensuring the best value for the company.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that inventory levels are optimized, avoiding overstocking or stockouts, while meeting customer demand.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously analyse market trends and competitor activities to make data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost-saving initiatives in the buying process, while maintaining product quality and supplier performance.
  • Decision Making: Make critical decisions in the purchasing process that affect overall store profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate buying strategies and decisions to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across the business.
  • Drive and Initiative: Lead buying initiatives with a proactive approach, ensuring the company stays competitive and responsive to market changes.
