Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Utilize AutoCAD software to create 2D and 3D drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical illustrations based on project requirements
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project specifications and design objectives
• Modify existing drawings and plans as necessary to reflect design changes and improvements
• Maintain and update CAD files and libraries to ensure consistency and organization
• Generate material lists, bill of materials (BOM), and other documentation as needed
• Conduct quality control checks on drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications
• Keep abreast of AutoCAD software updates and industry trends to continuously improve skills and efficiency
• Adhere to project timelines and deadlines to support the completion of projects on schedule
• Provide support and guidance to junior CAD operators, as needed
• Adhere to company standards, protocols, and best practices related to CAD drafting

Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent. An associate degree or vocational training in CAD would be a plus
• Proven experience as a CAD Operator with a strong focus on AutoCAD
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D modelling using AutoCAD software
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards and codes
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate drawings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to changing project requirements
• Time management skills and the ability to work efficiently to meet project deadlines
• Knowledge of drafting practices and the ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans
• Willingness to stay up to date with evolving CAD technologies and tools
