Join us.The Candidate Quantity Surveyor engages in all the Candidate Programme elements under the supervision of a Registered Professional Quantity Surveyor.This programme introduces and develops essential business, personal and technical skills nurturing the Candidate Quantity Surveyor to provide quantity surveying assistance pre- and/or post-contract.Technical Excellence:Completes the measurement of quantities for input into cost plans, cost estimates and bills of quantitiesAssists with the preparation of tender documentationAssists with viability studies and cost estimatesAssists with implementing, maintaining and monitoring cost control procedures throughout the duration of a projectAssists with providing necessary input related to financial claimsAssists with evaluating variations, additions and omissions, etc, and incorporating these into monthly cost reportsAssists with preparing, pricing and negotiating change orders with clients and contractorsMarket tests rates and analyses tender returns for input into rates databases and estimatesQualificationsBachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or University1 - 3 years experience in a QS function within the built environmentRegistered as Candidate QS with SACQSPAdditional InformationAbility to develop key and trusted client relationships that can lead to new business.Demonstrated collaborative skills, both internally and externally.Ability to advise on complex matters to non-specialists.Superior interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfactionStrong analytical, literacy and numerical skillsAbility to function with minimal supervisionAbility to delegate tasks and effectively supervise othersAbout AECOMAECOM is the worlds trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle - from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
