Care Manager
to oversee the daily operations of our care facility and ensure the highest standard of holistic, person-centered care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Policies, Procedures & Compliance
Operate in accordance with all relevant legislation, SANC regulations, CPOA policies, and municipal by-laws.
Maintain accessible files of acts, regulations, and internal procedures for staff training and orientation.
Planning & Coordination
Assess and plan staffing, equipment, and supply needs to maintain nursing excellence.
Compile and manage rosters, including shift allocations, annual leave, daily schedules, and supply orders using TGO.
Implement, monitor, and manage the DigiAge system.
Nursing & Resident Care
Assess applications for admission and prepare care plans with monthly reviews.
Oversee new resident orientation and delegate care responsibilities appropriately.
Monitor residents' health daily and ensure thorough documentation of care and medical responses.
Lead the nursing team in delivering care according to professional scopes of practice.
Investigate and resolve incidents, errors, or complaints swiftly and effectively.
Staff Leadership
Monitor staff performance, attendance, conduct, and appearance.
Drive continuous education and conduct staff appraisals and disciplinary actions when required.
Manage staff orientation, uniform procurement, and agency relief arrangements.
Maintain clear communication with the Care Operations Manager on all staff-related matters.
Administrative Oversight
Manage ordering and monitor quality for food, cleaning supplies, and transport.
Submit essential reports including admissions, occupancy, budgets, appraisals, and maintenance requisitions.
Maintain the asset register and facilitate regular fire drills and safety meetings.
Housekeeping & Catering
Ensure a clean, hygienic environment and uphold high standards in dining services.
Monitor the quality, appearance, and cost-efficiency of all meals provided.
Financial Management
Oversee financial performance to ensure the unit operates within budget.
Assist in annual budget preparation and promote facility usage to maximise income.
Liaise with residents regarding personal finances and address outstanding payments.
Facility Maintenance
Ensure the facility and its surroundings are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Identify and address hazards and damage proactively through regular inspections.
What We're Looking For:
Registered with the
South African Nursing Council (SANC)
.
Proven leadership in a nursing or care management role.
Strong administrative, planning, and coordination skills.
Compassionate and committed to the well-being of elderly residents.
Tech-savvy and able to manage digital systems (e.g., DigiAge, TGO).
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
