Duration: One-year contract with the option of becoming permanentWe are assisting our client, a well-known catering solutions company, in finding a highly skilled and experienced Catering Manager to oversee the catering operations at a prestigious private primary school. The primary responsibility will be managing the daily lunch service for students and staff, along with catering for occasional events held on Saturdays. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both catering management and culinary arts, ensuring high-quality service and food standards.The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Catering Manager, preferably in a school or similar environment and a strong culinary background with hands-on chef experience.Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 education.
Proven experience as a Catering Manager, preferably in a school or similar environment, with at least five years of relevant experience.
Strong culinary background with hands-on chef experience.
Excellent organizational and management skills.
Computer proficiency.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Exceptional time management skills.Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily lunch service operations, ensuring timely and high-quality meal provision.
Plan and execute catering for special events held on occasional Saturdays.
Develop and maintain menus that are exciting and meet the nutritional needs and preferences of students and staff.
Manage the catering budget, including cost control and inventory management.
Order stock and control stock levels to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Supervise, train, and evaluate kitchen and catering staff.
Delegate tasks efficiently and lead a team with authority.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Collaborate with school administration to coordinate catering requirements for various events.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
