Duties and responsibilities:
  • Record incidents and keep them for evidence purposes.
  • Produce a sequence of events reports as and when a need arises.
  • Ensure that all security systems function properly.
  • Produce preliminary investigation notes for the investigators.
  • Operate and maintain surveillance equipment, watching both live and recorded video surveillance footage.
  • Watch multiple monitors at once and making notes of any unusual occurrence and report to the Shift leader.
  • Work without constant supervision.
  • Store footage information for investigation purposes safely.
  • Ensure that footage is stored in a correct manner.
  • Test the redpolls (panic buttons) weekly and detailed report must be submitted.
  • Monitor intruder and fire alarm panels as well as the CCTV cameras.
  • Monitor all CCTV cameras.
  • Activate response members for intruder fire alarms.
Inherent requirements:
  • Grade 12 on NQF level 4.
  • Valid grade C PSIRA certificate.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience.
Recommendations:
  • Communication in at least three languages including English.
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of relevant security regulations and principles
  • Knowledge of the POPI Act
  • CCTV Monitoring certificate.
