CERTIFICATION OFFICIAL (In Training)Location: Christiana, Douglas, Northern Cape (Candidate must be willing to relocate, if required)Remuneration: R 605 096. 00 TCOEClosing date: 30 November 2024Starting date: 1 January 2025 /ASAPOur client wishes to appoint a Certification Official at their offices in Christiana: Responsible for all aspects regarding certification of seed potatoes e.g. registration of units, field inspections, sampling, tuber inspections and certification of lots.Administrative tasks, amongst others, include capturing of data.Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in #Agriculture with #plant pathology as main subject and/or #plant production and/or #agronomy or related fields as main subjectApproximately two years in service training is provided, before a candidate fully qualifies on all aspects of certification.Desired skills/attributes for suitable candidates:

• Energetic and positive attitude;
• High work ethic and principled decision-making ability
• Passion for agriculture, love to work outdoors as a lot of field work is involved, with extended working hours in season and fair amount of travelling;
• Keen interest to learn;
• Candidate must be able to work without supervision and as part of a team;
• Manage own workload efficiently and effectively;
• Sound internet skills and a high level of computer literacy;
• Fluent in English (verbal and written) and Afrikaans;
• May not be colour blind (impacts on visual detection of plant virus symptoms);
• Strong numeracy efficiency;
• Must be physically fit and able to walk in fields during inspections and stand during tuber inspections and lift relatively heavy items;
• Good communication skills as well as good interpersonal relationships are required; and
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Sober habits - the company has a zero tolerance towards alcohol and substance abuse
