Our client in the Agricultural industry is seeking a Cheesemaker to join their team in Elliot (Eastern Cape). Successful candidate will be responsible for standardisation and pasteurization of milk to produce first grade cheese by conforming to the microbiological and analytical requirements and procedures. Minimum Requirements:-
Matric
Qualified Cheesemaker
Minimum 3 years' cheddar and mozzarella cheese making experience
Sound communication skills (written and verbal)
Good eye-hand coordination
High analytical and problem-solving skills
Numerical and critical decision-making abilities essential
Quality focused, efficiency and product knowledge orientated essential
Time management and recording keeping
Duties to include (amongst others):-
Efficient control of production activities - conduct required milk tests, check availability of ingredients and packaging and certify that production goes accordingly
Manage yield and waste, report any non-conforming products and processes to the Plant Manager and grade cheese as part of Grading team
Accurate record completion - proper verification of all records at the end of each shift to identify / flag problems
Factory equipment utilization - monitor accurate usage of machines and equipment and make equipment available for preventative maintenance
Sampling - take in-line milk samples to the laboratory for micro-biological and analytical testing and for process control
