Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated

Chef

to oversee our kitchen operations at a high-standard medical facility. As a Chef, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen team, managing staff, ensuring food quality, and overseeing all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation, while maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

07:00 - 19:00 with a 1-hour lunch break, 15/16 shifts per month

Key Responsibilities:



Food Quality & Presentation:

Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, taste, and presentation for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure the kitchen meets all Department of Health and Department of Social Development regulations.

Stock Control:

Perform monthly stock checks and monitor inventory to prevent food wastage.

Daily Stock Checks & Orders:

Ensure the kitchen has all necessary ingredients and place weekly orders to the Kitchen Manager.

Food Safety:

Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment.

Dietary Knowledge:

Excellent knowledge of different food types and dietary requirements, and the ability to meet all nutritional needs set by the registered dietician.

Team Leadership & Training:

Train and manage kitchen assistants, ensuring efficient operations and high performance.

Cost Management:

Manage food costs effectively, ensuring profitability while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Problem Solving:

Ability to address issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:



Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a medical or high-standard food environment, min of 5 years. Culinary Diploma Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and lead a kitchen team effectively. Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and kitchen procedures. Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively. Ability to stand for long hours and work efficiently within a team. Excellent health and physical stamina. Ability to handle dietary restrictions and deliver quality meals that meet clients' specific needs.
