Chemist: Water Testing (Paarl, CT) (LC_702) Scientific (Technical)
Cape Town - Western Cape - South AfricaESSENTIALSND + BTech / BSc / MSc Chemistry / Biochemistry; minimum of 2-3y experience hands on working experience running analytical chemistry instruments (including HPLC, IC); maintaining instruments & testing samples, ISO17025 experience required. RSA citizen; highly computer literate, must reside near Paarl currently.Location: Paarl, Cape TownSalary: Based on experience (including benefits)DETAILSOur client is an established ISO 17025 accredited Analytical testing laboratory who services the Water, Wastewater, Mining, Agricultural, Viticulture and Food and Beverage industries. Were assisting them in recruiting for an experienced, meticulous Analytical Chemist who works with initiative and can handle workflows in the lab independently.The role will include sampling, conducting routine analysis (HPLC, IC) according to standard operating procedures, as well as instrument monitoring, calibration, maintenance and trouble shooting. Being an accredited lab means other related duties & following company QMS/SOP regulations will be required, including updating QC charts, taking part in proficiency testing, updating LIMS and training junior analysts when required.REQUIREMENTS

• BTech/BSc/MSc Chemistry or Biochemistry
• 2-3 yrs working experience running & testing samples using analytical methods
• Experience working in an ISO17025 Chemistry lab is REQUIRED
• Expertise in water sample testing & analytical chemistry methods
• Meticulous, work with initiative, accurate and hard-working team player
• Outstanding communication skills in English, strong computer literacy
• South African citizen
• Must already be residing near Paarl
