To manage the Commercial long lease portfolio of the City, to create business opportunities and
to achieve the highest return through rental mechanisms
Key Responsibility AreasManage, supervise, motivate, direct and control the performance of staff and ensure the
efficient function of the Division.
Plan, organise and allocate the work of the Division.
Ensure that by way of a consultative process and in terms of policy, formal leasehold
procedures are introduced to alleviate problems of allocation of leases, unauthorised
occupation and breaches of lease conditions.
Ensure implementation of Committee decisions and compliance with Statute Law and
Ordinances and Council and Departmental policy and procedures.
Approve Lease Agreements, Interim Tenancy Agreements/ Indemnities/ Undertakings,
Addenda, Tender documents, and Developers briefs, Notices and Advertisements.
Approve Cessions, Sub-Leases, Consents to Mortgage and Landlords consent.
Approve and sign correspondence.
Maintain and control arrear rental schedule and resolve issues arising therefrom.
Investigate, research and finalise complex and contentious matters and resolve
disputes, including obtaining Legal Opinions on issues affecting the Division

Essential RequirementsTertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) in the Real Estate or Property Management or Built
Environment (e.g. Town Planning or Housing) or Administration field or any other related
and equivalent qualification.
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
5 Years relevant experience.
Computer Literacy
Preferred RequirementsTertiary qualification (NQF Level 7) in the Real Estate or Property Management or Built
Environment (e.g. Town Planning or Housing) or Administration field or any other related
and equivalent qualification.
6 Years relevant experience.
