Our client in the IT industry, based in Auckland Park (Johannesburg), is currently looking to employ an experienced Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in senior managerial position.
  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision and mission, and proven management, leadership or business lead experience.
  • Tech industry experience advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of company governance and general management best practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as Marketing, PR, Finances, and HR.
  • Relevant Bachelor's qualification essential; further studies will be advantageous.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
1. Brand and Business:
  • Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short and long term objectives.
  • Create a new business pipeline that is able to translate into sales.
  • Implement marketing strategies and initiatives designed to raise the companys profile and attract new business growth.
2. Operations:
  • Make high-quality business decisions and develop in-house policies to maintain the companys legality and business ethics.
  • Management and oversight of HR policies.
  • Negotiate space requirements and leases with landlords.
  • Ensure suitability of the company's premises to cater for current and future space and infrastructure requirements.
3. Product:
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company.
  • Maintain a close awareness of in-demand skills required by existing and potential clients.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the technical elements of the Skills Development pillar on the BBBEE scorecard to ensure our products are aligned where necessary.
4. Stakeholders:
  • New and renewal contract negotiations.
  • Crisis management with clients with the ability to provide workable solutions in the best interests of the company and our clients.
  • Manage the companys supply chain and key partnerships to ensure a high quality of service received and competitive pricing.
5. Financial:
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.
  • Oversee invoicing of clients and credit control, ensuring invoices are correct and payments received as timeously as possible.
6. People:
  • Manage staff development plans and ensure a positive learning environment for all staff.
  • Performance management and disciplinaries when required.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of staff - that all staff are optimised fully and that there is no under-resourcing or unnecessary over-resourcing.
