Job Description


Our client in the Nuclear and Alternative energy industry is currently looking for a Chief Financial Officer, in Cape Town, Western Cape.Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the company's financial functions, including monthly financial reporting, revenue management, and cost analysis.
  • Ensure robust financial systems and controls are in place, reviewing processes and internal controls for continuous improvement.
  • Provide detailed financial information for executive decision-making and board reviews, including budgets, reforecasts, and strategic financial planning.
  • Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits.
  • Prepare financial analyses for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
  • Ensuring legal and statutory compliance, including IFRS compliance, tax filings, STATS SA returns, and BBBEE audits.
  • Maintain diligent oversight of financial audits, CIPC duties, and compliance with all regulatory bodies like FICA and SARB.
  • Ensure robust financial systems and controls are in place, reviewing processes and internal controls for continuous improvement.
  • Drive the treasury function, managing cash flow forecasts and the strategic management of debtors and creditors to enhance financial terms and operations.
  • Evaluate and advise on new business opportunities, tenders, and potential acquisitions, ensuring competitive pricing and optimal investment strategies.
  • Act as the primary financial interface for banks, financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including DTI, Eskom, investors, and shareholders, ensuring transparent communication and strategic alignment.
  • Guarantee the effective management of the companyxe2x80x99s ERP system, maximizing functionality and overseeing external support services to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
  • Have oversight of the companyxe2x80x99s IT department, aligning IT infrastructure and strategy with business objectives to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
Requirements:
  • CA (SA) or similar qualification.
  • At least 10 years post articles experience preferably in the project engineering/EPC or energy sector, supported by at least 5 years demonstrable experience in a senior role with proven decisive leadership qualities.
  • Understanding of local and international financial regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in corporate governance.
  • Deep knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local tax laws, and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Understanding of capital investment decisions, funding strategies, and cash flow management pertinent to corporate operations and expansions.
  • Expertise in all aspects of accounting, from operational accounting to creating comprehensive financial statements.
  • Knowledge of IT systems management, particularly ERP systems, which are critical for financial data processing and reporting.
Remuneration:
  • R140 000 xe2x80x93 R200 000 per month.
