Minimum requirements for the role:

  • A bachelors degree in business, Finance, or a related field is essential for this role (A Masters degree is preferred).
  • Previous (5) experience working in a senior commercial or operational role, with a proven track record in building and scaling startups or medium-sized businesses.

  • Must have a strong understanding of pricing strategies, sales management, and partnership development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing all commercial activities, from pricing strategies and sales management to partnerships with key suppliers and engagement with major customers.
  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives.
  • Leading the commercial side of the business, including pricing, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Identifying new business opportunities, market trends, and growth areas to expand market share.
  • Overseeing the sales team, providing guidance and leadership to achieve sales targets and drive overall performance.
  • Establishing sales processes, metrics, and KPIs to monitor and optimise the effectiveness of the sales team.
  • Driving a customer-centric sales culture that delivers exceptional client experiences while maximising revenue.
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating terms that benefit the company.
  • Developing long-term supplier relationships to support the company's operational and commercial needs.

  • Engaging directly with key customers, building strong relationships to understand their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Monitoring product margins and commercial performance, ensuring the company remains financially sound.
  • Providing leadership across all operational aspects of the business, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Working closely with the CEO and other executives to implement processes and systems that drive operational excellence.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to ensure that commercial strategies are implemented effectively across the organisation.
  • Mentoring and developing commercial and sales teams, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
  • Establishing clear performance goals and KPIs for team members, holding them accountable for results.
  • Identifying and implementing training and development initiatives to upskill staff and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing contract negotiations with key clients and suppliers, ensuring favourable terms for the company.
  • Managing budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring that commercial activities are aligned with financial targets.
