We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity with one of our esteemed clients, an International Mining House, for the position of Chief Safety Officer on a fixed-term contract. This rewarding role is based at one of their mines in the Northern Cape, offering a dynamic and challenging environment for an experienced and results-driven professional. Our client is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic individual with a proven track record in safety management within the mining industry.Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting comprehensive risk assessments on production activities and compiling detailed reports.
• Assisting operational teams in managing critical risk processes.
• Overseeing and conducting critical control audits and legal audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Advising line managers on risk exposures during production and safety meetings.
• Promoting and managing the companys safety policies and standards, ensuring compliance by colleagues and business partners.
• Preparing for incident and accident investigations using a centralized framework and supporting management during investigations to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A BTech or Bachelors degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or a related discipline is often preferred.
• 5 years working experience as a Safety, Health and Environmental Officer in a large industrial environment of which 3 years should have been in Opencast Mining.
• COMSOC 1 & 2 (Non-negotiable).
• Trade Test Certificate.
• A Mine Safety Officer Certificate issued by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE).
• SAMTRAC Certification (Preferred).
• NEBOSH Diploma (Preferred).
• Exposure on ISO management systems or any other recognized SHE system.
