The Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals to assist with the implementation of safety and security tactical interventions to build departmental resilience in providing safety and security solutions and compilation of safety and security risk assessments.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 2 years relevant experience; A valid code B (or higher) driving license. Note: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable access to transport may also apply.
Recommendation
Working knowledge of the following: Risk Management ISO 31000, Business Continuity Management ISO 22301, Information Security ISO 27001 and security risk management.
Key Performance Areas
Influence security governance within the WCG institutions; Support the implementation of ISO aligned security methodologies for people, processes and technology with client departments (conduct safety and security risk assessments and investigation of breaches); To embed a positive security culture within facilities; Advise departments in terms of Occupational Health and Safety Compliance; Contribute towards sound human resource and budget practices.
Competencies
Technical knowledge and understanding of the following: Safety and Security related legislation, standards and regulations; Safety and Security Management; Risk Management processes; Applied strategic thinking; Creative thinking; Problem analysis; Problem solving and decision making; Communication (written and verbal) skills; Proven computer literacy in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Remuneration
R 376 413 - R 443 403 per annum (Salary Level 8)
Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
