We have a tremendous, fully remote opportunity for a Chief Sub-Editor at an award-winning, established Content agency based in the UK. While fully remote, you will need to be based in South Africa for this role.Working collaboratively with the entire project team - especially the Managing Editor - the Chief Sub-Editor is responsible for the delivery of high-quality, timely content across the project portfolio, with particular focus on Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly (DWM) email programmes and a technical journals programme.The Chief Sub-Editor also plays a role across the agency, working with the subs team and supporting multiple projects where required.While locally (SA) based, the successful candidate will work on UK clients (mainly B2B) on everything Digital from long form copy, to social, vlogs, podcasts, emailers, blogs, and more.   • Support the editorial production process by liaising with the Managing Editor to ensure that all deadlines are met; subbing and fact-checking a wide range of multimedia content to ensure it adheres to house style, is accurate and consistent and adheres to SEO best practice; and checking any client corrections have been implemented correctly
  • Support the production process for the print and digital technical journals programme, working closely with the Managing Editor. This includes all subbing and process responsibilities outlined in the bullet above
  • Work closely with the team to ensure content is created and published in the most timely and creative way
  • Support the Managing Editor in upholding editorial standards and house style across the project
  • Stay up to date with the platforms, production techniques and technologies required to complete the role
  • Contribute to regular team meetings
  • Support the team with additional projects that require their expertise
RequirementsThe successful candidate must have/be:
  • Industry relevant qualification
  • 8+ years' experience
  • Deep experience of developing and publishing editorial content digitally and in print
  • Proven ability to work on multiple multi-channel editorial projects simultaneously
  • A passion for content publishing
  • A working knowledge of digital publishing platforms
  • Incredibly strong attention to detail
  • The personality to form strong working relationships across the agency and client business, working effectively with stakeholders.
