Job Description

To manage the overall function of the Division and undertake responsibility for the professional interpretation and analysis of the various aspects and requirements of civil engineering work within the Division.
Key Responsibility AreasManages, controls and monitors the performance and conduct of staff.
Manages and controls finances by preparing and motivating for acceptance of the Divisions
Maintenance and housekeeping budgets, monitoring costs, taking corrective action where
necessary.
Undertakes administration and liaison functions in accordance with Batho Pele principles e.g. ensuring completion of all necessary documentation including I.O.D. forms, insurance claims, incident reports etc.
Plans and organises the systematic maintenance and repairs of all steel reticulation, trunk
mans, and reservoirs and pump stations.
Monitors all work to ensure that it is completed in accordance with contract drawings and
specifications.
Provides engineering expertise for all site maintenance and emergency work.
Reviews and makes recommendations for improving work methods and specifications.
Liaises with other engineering bodies to exchange technical ideas and information.

Essential RequirementsBachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (NQF Level 7) in Civil
Engineering.
Registered as a Professional Civil Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of
South Africa (ECSA).
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
5 Years relevant post registration experience.
Computer Literacy.
