Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A minimum of 7 years appropriate experience in child and youth care work after obtaining the required qualification; A valid code B driving licence.
RecommendationRegistration as a auxiliary or above Child and Youth Care Practitioner.Key Performance Areas Serve as a team leader for child and youth care workers during a shifts; Oversee the following: Admission and related activities of residents to the facility; Access of residents to medical services; Implementation of planned developmental, recreational and therapeutic programmes; Basic life space work; Continuous supervision; Facilitate handover of shifts; Undertake inspections during a shifts and report on incidents and problems identified; Perform administrative work relevant to the job; Oversee the completion of daily registers e.g. log books, medication registers, incident reports etc.; Ensure that attendance registers are signed and kept up to date; Perform all the clerical functions required; Render care services to residents; Continuous professional development.

RemunerationGrade 1: R 193 125.00 - R 218 673.00 per annum (OSD as prescribed)Grade 2: R 227 628.00 - R 267 624.00 per annum (OSD as prescribed)Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
