A Child and Youth Care Worker to take on the role of live in House Parent
in the Kagiso Family Home for Girls in Randfontein.The full time position will suit a responsible, mature individual.In-service training and on the job support will be provided. This position carries a competitive salary.Benefits include Medical Aid and Pension.DUTIES:

• Implementation of the Girls and Boys Town Long Term Residential programme, policies and procedures, taking responsibility that youth needs (basic care, health, educational, emotional and behavioural development etc.) are met
• Development and maintenance of effective and caring working relationships with youth, parents, colleagues and external agencies.
• Engaging with the adolescents through sport, recreational and fun activities.
• Working as part of a therapeutic team in planning and achieving positive outcome for young people.
• Implementation of Family Home administration, including youth reports, motivation cards etc.
• Contributing to the upkeep and general maintenance of the family home and resources.
• Managing the home within the established annual budget
• Manage and supervise the assistant family teacher and domestic staff

QUALIFICATIONSGrade 12/ MatricChild and Youth Care qualificationRegistration with SACSSP and proof of paid up membershipREQUIREMENTS

• At least two years experience working with adolescent youth
• Ability and courage to work with 10 girls with challenging behaviours, teaching Life and Social Skills
• Strength in:Marriage, Family and Social Values, Parenting Skills
• Security in:Own Careers, Friendship and Family Networks, Interests and Sport
• Available to respond to youth needs on a 24 hour availability basis
• A valid code 10 drivers and PDP license to be obtained within 6 months
• Bilingual (additional traditional language advantageous)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Sensitivity to cultural and individual differences
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and standard household appliances
• Being adaptable and flexible
