Job Description

Our client, a leading international mining company operating in the Northern Cape, is currently seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join their team during the critical commissioning phase of a major project. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all designs and constructions comply with South African regulations and standards. This is a fixed-term contract position with the potential for extension, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and play a key role in the successful execution of mining operations.Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the construction of structural and civil components to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Work with contractors and construction teams to resolve any issues that arise during construction.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests on construction materials and structures.
• Ensure all engineering practices adhere to health and safety regulations, minimizing risk to workers and the environment.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols specific to structural and civil engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive project development.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, including design calculations, test results, and progress updates.
• Develop maintenance plans for structural components to ensure long-term integrity and safety.

Qualifications and Experience:

• National Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
• Pr. Eng preferable.
• At least 8 years of experience within mining, specifically mineral processing industry.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Mining Safety Act.
