Job Description
Duties:
- Design and analyze structural components of mining plants, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, structural assessments, and integrity evaluations of existing plant infrastructure.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Geotechnical Engineers, to develop engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for structural projects.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including reviewing contractor work and ensuring adherence to design plans.
- Ensure that all structural designs prioritize safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and construction methods to drive continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Masters Degree is an advantage).
- 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of mining plant infrastructure, including conveyors, foundations, and support structures.
- Experience with relevant engineering standards and codes (e.g., ASCE, AISC, ACI, Eurocodes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with stakeholders and preparing technical documentation.
