Job Title: Civil Engineer (QAQC) - SS & TL, PV & BESS
Location: Groblershoop, Northern Cape
Salary: R35 000 - R45 000 - Depending on Qualification and experience
Benefits: On- site accommodation, and transport will be provided
Closing date: End Sept 2024Duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct quality inspections and audits of civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures and documentation throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on renewable energy projects like PV, BESS, substations, and transmission lines.
• Develop quality plans specific to civil works, ensuring industry standards and project requirements are met.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to address quality-related issues, drive continuous improvement, and ensure readiness of civil components for system integration.
• Identify and address non-conformities or deviations from quality standards, and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Monitor and enforce strict safety and environmental compliance during all civil construction activities.
• Prepare comprehensive QAQC reports documenting findings, recommendations, and compliance metrics.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and compliance certificates, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accessible.

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 6 to 8 years of proven experience in civil engineering and quality assurance/control within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on PV, BESS, substation, and transmission line construction.

Beneficial requirements:

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, materials, and relevant regulations.
• Proven track record in overseeing civil construction activities, conducting quality inspections, and implementing quality control measures.
• Experience in managing construction teams and working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools for documentation and reporting, including MS Office and project management tools.
• Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001) is highly desirable.
